Question about body lifts

So I checked on the 4crawler website for a 96 body lift and saw the ragjoint extension is only needed for possibly 2" body lifts but definitely 3" body lifts.

I just ordered a 1/2" body lift and wondering if a few stacked washers might be necessary or if not touching the ragjoint is the way to go.

If you are regarding the steering shaft which I believe you are, I would not really reli on washers alone. Also I see you only ordered 1/2 an inch. Usually no extension are needed for the steering shaft. Results do vary though.

When you install the BL, loosen the rag joint a little, then re-tighten when you're done. You should be fine.

Alright, so I should be good with just loosening the joint and the linkage on the transmission. Then tighten everything up when the blocks are installed.

Yeah I installed a 4crawler body lift on my old 4runner which required the spacer, but anything 1" or 1.5" (don't remember) and under you don't need the spacer. So yeah, just loosen the bolts, then install the lift, then tighten them back up. Otherwise your steering is going to be too tight.
