Question about mounting a cargo basket

I’m wanting a cargo basket instead of a full roof rack. My question is does anyone know if there are mounting brackets to remove my OEM roof rack and mount the cargo basket to the roof where the factory roof rack was attached? 06 V8 limited. Thanks for any help!

I dont't know of anything like you describe, but I have a ROLA roof rack with the low profile brackets from 4xInnovations. The basket just barely touches the roof in one place, so I don't really think you could get it any lower.

Personally, the price is right and I am a big fan of the look. I didn't do a full length rack because of concerns about wind noise, but I know some folks do.

I second the 4xInnovations ROLA mounts....I use them for a cheap Curt brand rack off amazon and it sits perfectly inside of the factory rails.

As far as I know....I think you may need to look at a full aftermarket rack, or come up with a custom solution

Thanks for all the responses but I bought a small trailer instead.
