question about switching wheels on tacoma with locking hubs

hey guys.

i recently picked up a one owner 99 tacoma with 55k original miles. its a standard cab 4 cyl with auto trans and 4x4 with locking front hubs. i got it for dirt cheap at $5500.
i recently took it to the dealer for a frame check and it has a hole in the frame. they will pay me 150% of its book value of $9000 because of this.

now to my question,
i have a buddy with a 2002 tacoma standard cab 4cyl blah blah with 4x4 and no locking hubs. he has the ugly steel wheels and needs tires. i have alloy wheels with 31" almost new tires.
can swap my locking hub wheels with his non locking hub wheels? is it any easy on and off thing or will we need to do some modifying to make it work?

They SHOULD interchange, you just can't run centercaps with the locking hubs if that's an issue.

Last i checked on the taco frame swap is that the owner at the time of the recall issue which was many years ago got the 150% of value, and any owner after that got 100% of book value, so don't get your hopes up.

I guess this $13,500 check that I have in my hand from Toyota is no good then.
