Question about the amp. in the rear quarter?

Is the amplifier that is adjacent to the woofer in the right rear quarter of an '05 the one for the entire system or just for the sub?

Does this mean I could access all the signal needed here, in the rear quarter panel if I wanted to keep my NAV head unit and replace the JBL amp and speakers with new stuff (my SoundStream Class A amps, audio control eq's, MB Quart separates and Boston Pro Sub)? It would make life easier than running cables from the front for all of it.

Yes I know keeping the factory head means handicapping my system, esp. since the rest of it is so high quality. I am fine with that, I want to keep the NAV and don

Yes, Im doing the same, since the amp is "digital" im using the feed from the JBL amp to a Audio Control LC6.

So rather than remove the amp and use the lines from the headunit into the amp to feed your new system.........you are letting the signal go through the factory amp and using the lines from the factory amp to the speakers to feed your system? There for you are leaving the factory amp in place?

Yes, because of the "digital" headunit, the output from the head unit to the amp is only left and right, there would be no control for fading from front to rear, or the output for the nav voice, if you get the sound from after the amplifier, you can grab all the outputs.

With this setup can you still utilize the factory amp to power the speakers and add a 2nd amp to power the sub?
