Hey guys I was wondering if you should wash your undercarriage after you got your truck undercoated whenever you get your car washed. Wouldn’t the undercarriage wash take off the undercoat faster if you do?

I just use fresh water underneath over the winter. If you used a good product, it won't hurt it, think of slush and wet roads all winter long, it's intended for that.
Come spring I use the soap and water underneath as I hate a sticky messy underside in the summer collecting dust.

It really depends on what you use. WD-40 they mostly dont rinse off. Fluid film wouldn't be a big deal. The ones that stay fluid would be in question. I wouldn't go in there with the highest pressure your pressure washer could do in the liquid ones. Rinsing it off low pressure would be no big deal at all as when you drive on wet roads that's exactly what you are doing.

It’s actual undercoat not like a fluid film or oil.

I hope it's not rubberized undercoating on rusted steel. In any case, if it gets hard your fine. :] like others said on a really wet day your undercarriage is getting washed going down the highway.

Yeah I got it like that from the dealership. I got it pre inspected before I bought the vehicle and they said the frame was solid and good. But I noticed their is some surface rust underneath it but nothing it rotting. Would that hurt anything if they sprayed undercoat over the surface rust? If it was up to me I wish I could take the crap off and use fluid film or something similar.
