What kind of difference did you notice after installing new bumpers and rock sliders? Obviously lower mpg but by how much and is you acceleration slower as well? I'm thinking about starting with a front bumper and moving to full armor but not if it makes my runner a lot slower

I noticed more of a difference from my lift and tires then by any of the armor I put on. In fact I was still stock when I did my rear bumper and sliders and didn't really notice any difference at all.

True but in my situation it is. See this is my daily driver until I pay it off and buy another daily driver. So with everything I want to do to it I would like to save the stuff that cuts mpg for when I get the other vehicle. Don't get me wrong nothing is being left out solely because of its impact on mpg.

its really not that bad though. whats average for a stock runner? 18 highway? after lift/armor/33" tires we get 14-15? it adds up but it never really was a fuel efficient DD in the first place.

I get 18 or so around town with with several hundred lbs of armor, dual cases, a winch, and 36's. And that's with a worn out, carbed 22R.

But it's not my DD either, my DD gets 13-14 :(

I am getting about 18-19 average (according to my scan gauge). that is with front bumper with winch, rear with tire carrier, sliders and a roof top tent. i was getting 20 or so when it was stock.

The correction factor from my old drag racing days was that for every 100 lbs added it added about 1/10th second to your quater mile ET.

As an addition to this question, how many of you have v6's versus v8's?

I enjoy the economy of my 6, but I've been worried about the prospect of getting armor and how it the engine will handle it.

Thoughts?
