Question for those who have ditched XREAS and installed coil overs...

Quick background - long time lurker (been reading through all the 5th gen threads for a year before purchasing!), just recently joined, 2nd post actually...

I have just picked up a 2011 classic silver limited this past weekend.

My question for those who have upgraded to coilovers and scrapped the XREAS...what's your take on the improvement of the on-road ride and handling?

I don't find XREAS to be all that bad for a truck based SUV, but I have never experienced coilovers on this truck, obviously. My experience with coilovers have all been on sports cars which probably don't have much relevance here.

My 4runner will be used for carrying mountan bikes/road bikes and my dog and will be driven mostly on pavement with the occasional camping trip. I have a set of 20x9 / +18mm / 5.25" BS wheels running 275/55/20 tires.

I am seriously considering the Overland Warehouse 2.0 coilovers and rear shocks as I've already been talking to Andries about my goals.

Your opinions are much appreciated!

Do it! But I am in an SR5 so can't say anything about the XREAS. But I do love how my truck rides now!

Congrats and welcome. I can't answer about missing XREAS but felt some comments on the 2.0 are warranted since I installed mine almost 3 weeks ago. It is awesome. The truck corners so flat. I read a few guys say you corner slower with a lift but it sure does not seem that way with the OW. Keep us posted.

I considered the 2.5, but Andries from OW thought it would probably be overkill for my goals.

But again, OW's products have an outstanding reputation for good reason.

I pulled out the XREAS for C.O's and never looked back. My truck corners just as well with the ICONS and wider wheel/tires.

That's exactly the response I was looking for.

I'm leaning towards the coilovers for sure.
