does your abs modulator valve make a 2-3 sec loud groaning noise when key is turned to "on" postion ( with engine off)
i was wiring up my cb to the in cabin fuse box
and noticed this sound whenever i turn key to on position
im not sure if it was there before and never noticed it
wanted to see if this a normal thing or not
its a 97 thanks guys

this is the part im talking about

My trucks abs does this with the key on, however it is an 02 and I know the braking system, as far as abs goes is different on newer trucks. I think the sound that mine makes comes from around the brake master which, on newer trucks is where the abs module is

Yea it kinda sounds like a motor turning on and then dieing
I have no abs lights on
It doesent seem to make the noise if I start the engine
only if I have to key to the on position for a couple seconds

I have the exact same sound in that area with ignition on (engine off). It goes away in a second or two. Been like that for past 7 years.

I used to have abs, I had like a 6 pack! Then I started drinking beer. I no longer have abs. Sorry I can't answer your question. Wait... different kind of abs?? My bad, time for more beer.
