Question if you're running the AVS Bug Deflector

I installed an AVS Bug Deflector on my '15 T4R today and had a question for those running one yourself. They give you 4 clear rubber bumps to stick on the hood to keep the bug deflector from touching the hood when (or if) it bends back...however there's so much room in there I don't see that they're really needed? Anybody leave them off without any problems? (I have a pic but it's tough with black on black...see the red arrow)

Another option is to put them on the back of the hood protector instead of the hood. Then they are there just in case but not on your paint.

That's what I did, although I don't expect it to flex enough to ever touch.

I put clear ones (like for cabinet doors) on the actual spoiler in the rear in case it for some reason would bend back and touch the paint....maybe with the additional 12hp it provides, you can get enough speed to flatten it out...

I purchased the B II, works great, also did not install the bumpers on the hood, installed on the shield, they lasted for a few days, but the shield does not flex at all.

My understanding is that the Bugflector II has more room between the top of the hood and the Bugflector (for me that meant more room to be able to wash the hood under the Bugflector) so....Bugflector II is taller....

Hey man, new owner of a 16 SR5. I tested the hardware before I put it on as the box the Bug Deflector II came in stated 2010-2013 4Runner. Seemed like the plastic screws were too small for the square holes. Plus they were round so I don't know how they would ever take in a square hole. How did you install your Bugflector II. Could you send a picture of the underside of your hood?

I just followed the instructions and it all fit perfectly on my 2016 SR5. Install took a few minutes. You should have received screws but also plastic squares that clip into the hood holes and then the screws go into those plastic clips.
