Question on 2006+ Headlight Wiring

I am looking to upgrade to the 2006+ headlights as I know many others have. My 4Runner is a 2003. I have some confusion around the wiring which I was hoping somebody could help me with.

I read through multiple other posts, including the one below, but could not decipher them.

https://www.toyota-4runner.org/4th-gen-t4rs/203327-how-do-03-06-headlight-swap.html

My plan would be to purchase the new headlights and put HIDs in them at the same time. If I purchase the correct wiring harness with the HIDs will I need to splice any wires?

I assume that the high beam connector will stay the same?

Thanks for any insight into the wiring of these lights.

standard hid kit harness all use 9006 plugs, the factor high beam on all 4th gen uses 9005 plug.

when you use hid kit for the factory 06+ projectors, they take h11b bulbs.
the ballast still uses 9006 connectors, its still a good idea to use a harness.

make sure to get the right h11b kit, its because of the ground wire.

good quality kit is from theretrofitsource or lightwerkz.
i would still recommend using the hyluxtek ballast kit, the ballast are guarantee to last and works.

retrofiting is another thing, better performance from using hid in halogen housings
