But if you're looking to clear your headlights there are numerous kits out there or DIY remedies (3M makes a great kit. The drill one will help get through better with how much you've got)
Otherwise buy new replacement headlight housings. Lots of information on the forum about both options (or all 3 if you really want to have those headlights!)

Like volkinator said: Sell the T4r and get a Tacoma.
BUT you can be the first person to buy get a front clip of a Tacoma and modify... everything.
Send pics in a few years when done.

To get the headlights clear again a $30 kit from your local auto parts store (assuming you have a drill) and polish the hell out of them, or buy a new set: Security Check

Hey, quick thanks to those off you who have responded.
I was sourcing out some options on getting this fixed and have heard that the 'cool looking' replacement lights that I"m seeing, for instnace on carid.com may not function so well once installed. And that I'd be better off goign with new stock stuff, assuming I want to buy new.
Any feedback there? I think some of the other lights look great, but I really want them to be functional in the end game. Anyone have any that had better looks and functioned about the same?
I also want to get some other feature lights but have no idea on that so will bug y'all later.

EDIT: Oh and I do find that Tacoma front end sweet, but no way I'm taking that on. I'm asking for help replacing headlights - pretty good with remote batteries and steering, but a tacoma front end, not so much

You could also do the '06 up headlight swap.

You'll need to wet sand, cut, polish then add the secret ingredient, 2k catalyzed clear coat.
any "kit" u buy at autopart store will only be a temp fix for a few months. all the cutting and polishing is abrasive and removes the protective coating that makes headlights clear. that coating is already past its life so you'll have to add the 2 part clear coat to bring it back to new.
they make 2k primer in aerosol cans. look up Spraymax 2k, the original aerosol 2k clear.
too much work? buying aftermarket depo headlights will also be a temp fix. their cheap thin plastics also fade after a while and their optics are hit or miss but mostly miss. OEM is the way to go

I'd only use original Toyota headlights. Every 'oem' cheapie I've tried was garbage.
I've used the kits, to varying result.
That said, I had a professional headlight guy do mine a year ago. They came out fantastic from heavily yellowed to crystal clear. Much less expensive than replacing them.

I too have the TYC headlights...I upgraded mine to the 2006-2009 versions with the projectors and they've been amazing for the last 5 years of use and wear...I also threw in some DDM HIDs into the projectors and have yet to get flashed or observed that they aren't intended to be this awesome...Best money spent on lighting for my rig!

TYC replacement projectors from rockauto
in downpours and mud bogging - no issues with leakage, all body lines are perfect. output is great, comes with all sylvania bulbs
For my 2004 Rockauto shows 2 different TYC headlight replacements, one is NSF certified and the other is CAPA certified, which ones did ya'll get?
