Took the upper inside panel off in the back of my Runner tonight, the one with the dome light on it, just inside the window. I want to know, why are there two speakers in there, that are not plugged in, where are the plugs, and why are there three other plugs, one on the passenger side, two on the drivers, that go to nothing? and is one of these (possibly the brown one on the drivers side) for a brake light?


I ask the last bit because I'm installing a high mount stop light from an early 90's Blazer on it.

Maybe someone unplugged those speackers cause the are blowen. plug'em in and try them.

IDK, I can't find the plugs that go to them. I did however find that the brownish tan plug on the drivers side, is a functioning brake light wire. My LED brake light is now working like factory.

very cool. show us some pics.

I recently removed all the rear interior panels on my truck and those speakers were I'm pretty sure wired right to the speakers in the lower quarter sections.
