Questions: 2001 4runner Limited 2WD

Hey Guys,

I just recently picked up a 2001 Limited. This is actually my third 3gen 4Runner. Guess that makes me a fan of this series.

I have the triple light combo annunciated that most likely implies replacement of the O2 sensor is needed.

Through my readings here, I've learned that the 2001 has the dual catalytic converter system. And there is one sensor on the exhaust side of both catalytic converters. Also, there is one A/F sensor on the engine side of the catalytic converters. Is this correct?

Assuming my learning is correct should I go ahead and replace the A/F sensor along wih the O2 sensor? If so, what are the Denso part numbers for each sensor (want to get the right parts the first time around)?

You ought to actually read the code first. O2 sensors are cheap, but you can save yourself some tail-chasing if you know what code is actually being thrown.

Not quite correct. There is a sensor upstream and downstream of the catalytic converters (yes, there are 2 converters, but they're in-line with one another). However, the upstream one IS the AF sensor and the downstream one is the O2 sensor. There's plenty of info here about what codes mean what, as well as sensor part numbers (etc...). Google tends to work best for searching the forum, using terms like "3rd 4Runner sensor" and such
