Questions about my oil change and oil pan gasket

I have drained the oil, removed the pan, and cleaned the outer side of the oil pan. Now the question is Can I also clean the inner pan with a engine degreaser or will that harm it ?

Another question is, I've purchased a Fel-Pro Gasket kit and there is two (2) gaskets in the package...do I use both gasket along with the gasket maker or use only one ?

You can clean the inside of the oil pan with whatever you want as long as it's clean and dry with no residue when you are ready to install it. Usually I hit stuff like that with degreaser first...then brake cleaner. The brake clean doesn't leave any residue, and dries real quick.

The gasket thing is funny. If they are both identical, then just use one of them. You never want to use two gaskets right next to each other, because they'll leak.

You don't have to drop your oil pan to change the oil. There is a little plug you remove and all the oil comes out.

I hope he meant the tranny pan. The engine pan must be a pain!

dang it. I hate pulling my engine to drop the oil pan each time I change the oil... Why don't people tell me these things?

Drained the oil (through the little bolt exit)

Dropped the oil pan to clean off residue from other "Quick Oil Stops".

It did not have a Gasket, it had only lots of Gasket Maker crap!

I used Castrol GTX 10w30 with Fel-Pro Gasket (only installed one).

Yes, the disassembly of the Oil Pan was a little difficult but managed getting that wire loom to the starter out of the way by removing it from 3 holders where run along the back of the Oil Pan (3-4 bolts).

Blitz - Funny. Was in a little hurry there. Doing the work at the same time.
