Questions for some future mods

Hey guys, please forgive me for the repetitive questions but I couldn't find what I was looking for while searching the forum.

I am considering-

Nitto Trail Grapplers: 295/70/17
tires-easy.com - Details: Nitto Trail Grappler M/T 295/70 R17 121/118P 10PR
Will this size fit with the 3" spacer lift?

Pro Comp 7005: 17x8, 6 on 5.5
Xtreme Alloys Series 7005 Black Finish
Fit well for the 4runner? (I know maximum setup for revtek is 16x8, I want to know if it will work well)

Rola Roof Rack with extension:
Rola Roof Mounted Cargo Basket 59504 : Trailer hitch bike rack and trailer hitches - etrailer.com
Rola Roof Mounted Cargo Basket Extension 59505 : Trailer hitch bike rack and trailer hitches - etrailer.com
Do you mount with stock crossbars or mount by bolting it in? Any suggestions

3" Revtek Spacer Lift:
Revtek Suspension | Toyota Suspensions
Kit includes a few things, do I need anything else (brake line extension, etc.)

I'm open to any comments and answers, please help me get the right set up!

if you are gonna lift it, lift it right, get a toytec lift kit, or LC coils and OME stuff, spacers IMO are a waste of cash.

for less than $200, the revtek spacer lift is right in my budget. I plan on getting a full suspension lift in the future, but not about to drop 1k on it just yet.

X2. Id take the 200 and put it towards all suspension. No point of wasting your money buying the spacers and putting them on just to change it later. Its your truck though. Just to answer your question what you posted will work..

You have a mighty fine list there im diggin the Nitto's too!
Like said above total suspension upgrade is best, but if you have a budget then its a great way to fill in the time being. Your ride will definitely stiffin up as the whole spacer concept goes.

Are you set on a 295? that is a damn wide tire, with that width you will have to run front wheel spacers to clear the UCA's atleast an inch if im correct.

Other than that your truck is your palate and its ready for you to get busy working on it! =)

cool rdgt4r, thats just the kinda info i need. Ya, the 295s, are pretty much the smallest 33" trail grapplers they make for 17s

285/70R17s are considered 33s.

EDIT: Nevermind, you're right about the trails, the smallest is a 295. Are you set on the trails? Lots of good tires out there (better IMO).

Ahh i see, you will be good then but I would definitely look into wheel spacers just to make sure you clear your Upper Control Arms for sure.

I think if your not set on the nitto's which as i can see too it might be hard as they look like a badass tire, definitely a 285 they really fit 4runners very well and that size is plentiful with many different manufactures and tread designs to your liking.

I really like the trails since they got a nice tread and I haven't seen many of them on here, but I'm open to other suggestions. I'm mainly looking for 33's with an aggressive tread and the trail grapplers are my #1 choice.

I totally hear you they are a great looking tire and I haven't heard much about them yet on fourms I think it would be sick to have. You wont be happy unless you get what you want (trust me i know)

You're going to notice a loss of power with those 295s. You will with 285s too, but even more with 295s. I think I know what's in your future....wait....wait.....I know....gears!

I got my Toytec lift for about $500.00 shipped. Then added a couple of 2.5" lift shocks from Skyjacker for $110. Within a few weeks, I had lifted and bought bigger wheels and tires for my Runner for about $2000.00!

The Toytec lift comes with Coils for the back, spacer for the front, and a diff Drop kit. All for around $500.00!

My opinion, save up a few more hundred bucks, and go with the Toytec lift. I went this route, and still wish I would have spent the extra and got the adjustable coilovers for the front, because I don't have too much faith in the spacers......at least my rear suspension is done respectablely...

You're going to spend over $1200 for tires alone, then lift it with some cheap spacers? Spacers ride like crap. Get a quality lift like a Sonoran Steel 1.2 or 7.2 kit.

Are you going to be wheeling at all or is this for looks?

I Can not stress enough that I'm on a budget, I used those sites for YOUR reference and am getting a good deal on the wheel and tire combo, the lift is temporary until I get some more money, and I plan on doing some more difficult offroading when I can get a new suspension. Thanks for the advice, but this is the setup I'm probably going with and would love some answers to the questions above. Sorry if I am coming off like a a!*%}*, not my intentions

Love some answers to the questions above? Thats what were doing. You asked for advice and thats what were doing. I would advise you get a suspension lift ATLEAST in the rear. If your not going to do that for sure then what you have posted will work. Not sure what your really looking for. Like sonoran said "nice parts arent cheap and cheap parts arent nice".

I see u want ta get out on the trail right now with some bigger tires, but if you go cheap on main parts and they break, that means you're going ta have ta fix a BIG money part or two or three. I know, when you put spacers in place it puts more pressure on existing stocked parts. But ur ans is yes they will work. Hey I'm like you, whatever it takes ta get me offroading (gray tape is my friend). good luck

But you don't need 34's and a cheap lift to get out wheeling. You can do that in a stock rig that will get you to lots of places. Especially the light wheeling thus guy will be doing (if any at all).

If you're doing this for looks, just say so. It will make it easier to suggest the appropriate upgrades.

Pnut my rig does get taken off road usually on camping trips to the snow or mountains etc. 295/70/17 are 33" tires do your math. Thanks 4x4G8R does any1 kno if I need some wheels spacers for wide tires like this? Besides everyone telling me I shud get a full suspension lift which obviously won't be happening, anyone got any ideas on this roof rack

I wasn't referring to your rig, but if you want to get technical, they're 33.26" tires. And fireroads that a Kia Sorrento can get through isn't off-roading. If the trails you go on actually do require 33's, please post pics.

Good luck with your mods.

You could get a decent set of 32s and a 1.5 spacer lift and have it come in under budget. 33s opens up a whole new can of worms. 3 in spacers will beat the hell out of your CV boots, and the panhard bar in the rear will be uneven.... but....

... if you just have to have those 295s, you will be in for trimming and pounding out that pinch weld in the fenders and you will be hard pressed to find someone who can get your camber aligned properly, so you don't chew through those brand new meats. While I don't think the UCAs will be too big of an issue (some shaving required), that will be part of the problem. Your CV angles will be nasty, and you may have enough droop to cause lots of extra wear on those CVs. Increase ball joint wear and lower bushings will be a given. Alot if the fitment issue will depend on the backspacing of the wheel and the offset (if present).

Roof Rack.
Looks like a relatively cheap solution that should do well as long as you do not put too much weight up there. They mount to the stock load bars, and have the advantage of being easily removable. I like it. Looks like a functional rack. No first hand experience, however.
