QUICK Antenna question

So i just picked up my new to me SR5 and the power antenna locks up every time you start the vehicle. I have done some reserach and would like to perform the Taco whip antenna converison but until then how can i stop it from doing this? Is there a way to disconnect the power to it so it doesnt move at all? I serached but couldnt find any threads on that. Is there a fuse perhaps? TIA!

Pull of the radio panel, cut the blue or red wire running to your factory amp. Its a 2x2x3" ish box. Other than being annoying why cut it?

Just pop the hood and find the pair of wires that run into the passenger fender. Should be a blue and yellow pair. Unplug the connector.

Hey Ripcord- i think i may have found them but not sure- there is a pair of wires (one solid blue the other black w/yellow stripe?) that go into the pass fender through a hole with a grommet. But i dont see any connectors? Would it be inside the inner fender? If so can the wires just be yanked? Id rather not cut anything if i dont have to. thx again

You are correct indeed. I just went and checked for myself.

I remember now that the plug is on the inside of the fender. You can see it in the picture below.. Another option is to just cut and tape that pair of wires. All they are is the power and ground for the antenna motor.
