Quick fist extensions / riser mounts

I have been running into an issue finding a cost effective way of mounting my shovel onto my roof.
Problem is that I wanted to mount it on my rack’s side wall but using just quick-fists, it sat too close to the car and the shovel would hit the paint.
I did not want to spend the big $$ that some of the custom shovel mounts cost.
Honestly.. it’s a shovel so I have just been throwing a tiny shovel into the car whenever I go out but I am tired of it bouncing all around in the back.
:D

I found this company called builtright industries.
They make a quickfist riser mount.
Its pretty awesome. They were $40 and they came with the risers and a set of quickfists and all the hardware to mount them.

I just used a gunlock thru the handle to help detour would-be’s..
I am very happy with them!

macscac - how are these holding up? Do you have any problems with the shovel rotating and the blade contacting the car? Also, do you know what size bolt is used to bolt to the rack? My rack is sized for 1/4" bolts. Thanks!

I honestly don’t remember what size bolts they were.
I just got the risers and then took them to ace hardware and got 2 bolts and nuts that fit.
My prinsu rack side slots are aprox 1/4” wide tho so you will be fine

The mounts are fantastic. I’m in Arizona so it’s hot. 110+ alll the time. They are in fantastic condition.
They hold super tight. The shove hasn’t moved at all.
I did have to wrap some duct tape around part of the shovel to get it to grip tight but it’s been just fine.

I’m very happy with these
