Subwoofer location

Hi - Before someone says "Try the search feature," or, "Did you even look before asking this dumb questions?", I did indeed look. The search feature on this site is less than robust in my opinion. Anyways, I am looking where to mount my sub in an 04. It has the deck in the cargo area which is utilized at times, lays flat sometimes, etc. My sub is just one of the smaller powered subs. I am trying to find somewhere to mount it. I am thinking I will do some sort of quick disconnect to it, so I can utilize the tray system if wanted. I contemplated just laying it flat on top of the tray. It would need a little bit of slack obviously since the tray moves 12 inches up and down or whatever. Where have you guys mounted them? Anyone use quick disconnects and if so, any that you recommend? The measurements are around 15 x 11 x 4 or so.

I would just do what you described. Or, you could just leave the tray up all the time and mount the sub under it. My tray is always up, and my two amps and two cd changers are under it. (My aftermarket sub is in the stock location, and I don’t need to utilize my cargo area very often.)

I used an 8" narrow box for awhile until I found all my speaker wiring issues. I liked it right behind the driver seat so I could feel it without it being too loud.

I found a small powered sub that went right under the driver's seat. Been there for like 10 years now and works great!
