Quick fix?

My head gasket is done and I plan on rebuilding the whole engine but i need it to last me and another 3 weeks until I ship out, my question is do those head gasket repair liquids work or is it a waste of money?

How bad is the head gasket and what is it doing?

My '86 blew in December (of '01), and I drove it daily until fixing it in April, but all it was doing was burning coolant. If you've got an oil/coolant mix, you're hosed.

When my HG went on the trail, I lost ALL coolant in about 2 min. haha. Looked like this...
