quick new radiator question

Okay my truck almost over heated.long story short I had almost 1/2 the coolant I should have. Found the leak. It was leaking by where the trans oil comes in/out at the bottom next to the rad drain plug. When I touched the connector that the hose is clamped to it just popped right off...I cant get it to screw back in. My question is do I need a new radiator and does the new rad come with the connector for this a/t line or do I save the old one to screw into the new rad. Reason I ask about the connector is I was think about temporarily jb welding the a/t connector to old radiator to limp by till new parts arrive...Good or bad idea? Thanks

BAD IDEA!

You do NOT want the ATF mixing with the coolant. See "pink milkshake".

Check your ATF fluid to make sure it hasn't happened already and if so follow the instructions posted above.

Sounds like new radiator time to me. Most folks here go with Koyo via on-line sources. I found a Spectra at Autozone and suspect they are as good. It's a long debate believe me! Spectra has lifetime warranty at Autozone...

Yes you need a new rad and I'd check your trans fluid also. Make sure it's not milkshaked. Don't drive it till you get it fixed.

I think you need to spend a little more time diagnosing this before you spend any money on parts.

OP, you're d. Eitherway I think I need a new rad anyway that trans fitting will not go back on PKKscription doesn't make sense. The a/t fitting may not be the source of the rad leak. Your right I need to look into this more. From the look of the aft on the dipstick it doesnt appear abnormal. Got to drain the fluid to make sure after work today . Need to get a new rad anyway its time I'd rather replace a $200 part on a whim rather than a $2000 trans when im stuck on the side of the road yea know

Also I have been burning what I think is oil from leaking valve covers on the exhaust headers maybe this has some pull towards my problem.
