Quick question about the 2020 off-road

I can’t find if it will have climate control like the limited. Can anyone confirm if it’s an option? I heard the pro might/is getting it

Also I heard a rumor they won’t have the off-road badge in the side. Any truth to that?

As far as we know all trim levels in Canada have dual zone climate and the Limited/Pro trims in the USA have it. Off Road/Premium do not appear to have dual zone climate in the USA.

Haven't seen anything about the Off Road badge being removed, pictures we've seen indicate it should still be there.

If the new TRD off road doesn't offer automatic HVAC controls that is going to be a serious downer. It's 2019 and the idea that a 45k truck doesn't offer automatic climate control is insane, especially considering there are now a million safety options and keyless. I'm back and forth between a few vehicles but I would have a hard time shelling out that kind of cash and not getting automatic HVAC.

Dual zone climate is a money pit to fix after the warranty expires. I'm glad its not standard equipment on the TRD ORP.

Last vehicle I had with climate control was my 1984 Supra. I get along fine without it in my 2019 OR.

Isn't that specific to the Pro?

Is it really? I can't say I've had one fail but I could have just been lucky.

Cool man. I'm glad you don't miss it. I've had it on the past 3 vehicles I've owned and I missed having it even on the test drive. What works for you may not work for me, I'm mostly shocked that it's not even an option except on the models that are the top trim.

No, it's about every 2020 model and this issue has been discussed there.

I don't think so. I've owned several high mileage Toyota and Lexus products, and have never seen, heard, read or experienced any issues with dual zone climate control. I would be interested to hear what Hydguy is referencing.

I think a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon probably has dual zone climate control. You should get one of those. They're better off-road anyway.

I am a big fan of dual zone, auto climate control. Actually one of the things I miss. Never had an issue with one in any vehicle.....to include the JKU I had :)

You should go with one of the other options. The 4Runner is far from a modern day anything.

Thank goodness. I had auto air on a number of vehicles. It's okay.

My Trail has great auto ventilation - 5 windows that roll down automatically at the push of a button and a sun roof too. Now if I could take the doors off. :)

Even my wife has come around in the past few years - it used to be about comfort and style and now it's more about function. Week before last we spent every day out on the beach in the soft sand. I'd surf fish some and my wife would take long walks looking for shells in the areas where trucks are banned - like the inlet side of the south point of Ocracoke. I think she's finally beginning to understand the finer differences in 4WD/AWD systems and tire pressure and such after years of seeing a variety of vehicles either fully stuck or trying to plow their way through the sugar sand and pea gravel with hard tires. She used to ask about why somebody was making sand rooster tails and why we never drove in the surf like some people. She never once said anything about wanting auto A/C like her Avalon.

She also seems to be getting a feel for how much stuff she likes to take to the beach - two sand chairs, small umbrella, lunch, wine, and all of my fishing gear and recovery gear of course. I think it was Tuesday when she started pointing out larger vehicles that she liked.

My luck, every single one she liked was a dark Suburban. I finally spotted a Land Cruiser and she thought it was just ok. Keeping the T4R unless I buy a bigger boat.
