Quick question about the remote locks

I don't know if this is a problem with my truck or if it's normal, but I thought I'd check.

On three occasions now, I have accidentally hit the lock button on the key fob with the door open. When that happens, the piezo buzzer starts a continuous beeeeeep, until I either close the door, or hit the unlock button on the fob.

Does this sound normal? It's not a huge problem, just a little embarassing when your truck is screaming at you while you are getting in.

i think it's to let you know that a door is ajar (open) so that you don't accidentally walk away from the truck leaving it open for theft. it's the only logical explanation. i have an aftermarket alarm so i can't varify it for you. anyone else?

Yup its completely normal. Like Trance said, its just to warn you that the door is open or isn't shut completely.

Cool, thanks for your replies.

Most of my other cars have just done a multiple beep or honk when that happens. I guess Toyota had to be different. :)
