quick question: does 2UZ-FE VVTI engine have hardened valve seats?

Am running my 4Runner V8 on LPG system. Would be good to know if the 2UZ-FE has hardened valve seats? Would help to extent life time of engine.

I have a special lubricant system (FLASH LUBE) when running on LPG, so that should minimize the risk.

Valves
The 2UZ‐FE engine had four valves per cylinder ‐ two intake and two exhaust – that were positioned at a 21.55 degree included valve angle. The intake valves had a 34.5 mm diameter, while the exhaust valves had a 29.0 mm diameter. To actuate the valves, the 2UZ‐FE engine used inner‐shim type, steel valve lifters that were crowned on the side‐sliding portion to reduce friction.
For the post‐2007 2UZ‐FE engine, lead‐free valve seats were introduced.


But does not say if the valve seats are hardened!

I remember reading on the bitog forums about someone who uses 2UZ-FE's on LPG for some sort of mining application. They might be a good contact.

every engine since the 80's(or whenever they got rid of REGULAR leaded fuel) will have hardened seats.

so, definitely no worries on yours.
