Quick question on ABS ring

I need to do my rear axle bearings/seals and am already planning on disabling the ABS system due to erratic performance. Do I need to install a new ring if I'm not going to have ABS anymore? Or can I get away without it and save some $$?

If your not using the ABS then you don't need the ring.

As I remember the ABS ring does offer some spacing for the retainer ring which seats on the axle seal. I fyou leave the ABS ring out, you don't want to press the retainer ring on all the way.

Folks can comment on the dangers of re-using your old ABS ring, but I'd think that would be better than getting rid of it, unless you are very careful about pressing on the retainer ring to just the right depth to mate with the seal.
