Wanna go doorless? It's easy!
Parts : Purchased at Tractor Supply
**Front Doors**
(4) Lock pins - 5/16th x 2 1/2"
**Rear Doors**
(4) Hitch pins - 5/16th x 2"
That's it!
Tools :
Phillips head screw driver
12mm Ratcheting wrench (Sooo much easier, can be done with an open-ended wrench, but it's very time-consuming)
10mm socket and ratchet
SawZall or hack saw
Cold Chisel
Needle nose pliers
Pretty sure that's everything I used...
The steps...
1. Roll down the windows! If you want the rear window down, do it now. With the door disconnected the windows are disabled!
2. With the front doors open, remove the door sill trim piece, kick panel, and B-Pillar trim piece.
3. Now, behind the drivers side kick panel there are 2 plugs, one white and one blue. On the passenger side there are 2 also. Unplug them and carefully fish them through the body and out of the way. (Pics soon) Behind the B-Pillar the "door open" indicator switch is plugged in right on the inside of the pillar, un plug it or the lights will stay on! Replace the interior pieces...
4. Disconnect the black arm that holds the door in the 'open' position. One 10mm bolt, under the plastic cover.
5. Now remove the doors... 2 - 12mm bolts on each hinge, 4 per side. Remove the door from the hinge, not the hinge from the body!
6. Carefully cut the hinge pins with your SawZall or hack saw. Just right in the middle, you'll drive the pins out with the chisel. Drive the chisel in between the cut pin, and tap the pins out. The top section comes up, the bottom section goes down.
7. With the pins out, remove the brass bushing from the hinge. It looks like a top hat, with an open top...
** I haven't noticed that my doors are any looser, or any issues with wear with out the bushings... The pins are MUCH easier to remove and replace with out the bushings!
8. Reattach the door-side of the hinge to the door.
9. The top Qucik Pin will need to go in from the bottom, up! The curve of the door won't allow it to fall in from the top. The bottom pin falls in top to bottom.
10. Should look like this...
