Quick simple ecu/ecm question.

I have a 92 4 runner 4x4 3.0. The ecu is bad,i think thats what it is called, the main computer anyway. I was wondering if i pick one up from a salvage yard from a vehicle with the exact same specs and with the salvage yard computer having the same exact numbers, would the used computer need to be flashed or would it function in my vehicle?

As long as the p/n on each ECM match, there shouldn't be a problem.
I'd even give it a try if they were just from similar trucks (engine and tranny).
And there is nothing to "flash" on old ECMs like that.
