I am about to be putting on spidertrax spacers that have been gently used, and i was wondering what the best threadlock sealant to use would be.

Thanks for all information

I would use Permanent (red). I use red on everything that needs loctite (metal to metal). If you ever need to break the seal and remove the lugs, just heat up the loctite and it will come right off...

Thank Jeremy, that's what i'll use

Correct! And the red is what the spidertrax come with.

Spidertrax is out of stock on these spacers, but I have these IN STOCK as we speak.

I guess this is as good a thread as any to ask...
Hey Jason I've got a 90 t4r 4x4 I wanted to use the Spidertrax as well. My original wheel set up is lug centric, I'm using a wheel that's hub centric. Do the Spidertrax spacers for my year accommodate lug centric for the truck and hub for the wheels?
Hope that made sense!

Thanks

If you order the 4Runner ones from our website, WHS-007, it is both a hub centric and lug centric centering spacer on the truck. So what your looking to do will work if you do not have locking hubs. Please remember that the WHS-007 will not work on any Toyota that has manual or automatic locking hubs.

are you sure that red tube comes with the spacers is Loctite not lubricant? would you use thread lockers on your wheels? I don't see a point.

thread locker does one thing and one thing only, that is to lock the lug nut and wheel lug. one any aluminum spacers equiped hub, there are 4 types of parts: the brake rotor, wheel lug, lug nut and the spacer. all the first 3 are made of steel, and the spacer is aluminum. spacers need to be re-torqued routinely not because the thread come loose, is because steel and aluminum expand and contract at different rates when temperature changes.

further more, what if you need to service the hub? what's gonna happen when you need to replace the rotor. Permanent thread locker can only be loosened with heat.

It is red thread locker. I've sold over 200 sets of these for the 4Runner, and never had anyone ask about removing yet.

Even though red thread locker is considered permanent, grade 8 studs of 1/2” diameter and larger can be broke loose without damage to the nut or the stud. To reinstall make sure you clean the threads well, reapply thread locker, and torque the lug nuts to the correct torque listed for your application.
