Yes, it uses R134A. I think that R134A was started to be used in some 1993 model Toyota's. I know that it is in my '93 Truck. By '94 I think they had changed all of the AC units over to R134A. I'm sure that someone will correct me if I am wrong. :bash:
Thanks for the information. I just had my 1990 Volvo recharged yesterday with something called Freeze 12 (no CFC's). I understand it is only available to authorized service technicians. Works okay but nothing like R12. Of course older Volvo's have always had lousy AC systems.
