Hi all,
I have a 2206 4 runner. The backlight stopped working on the display when temp and gas mileage show. The dealer mentioned you have to take the whole unit out. Any ideas if this is an easy repair and if so how?

WOW, a time traveller in our midst. I'm glad that T4R is going to last 200 years into the future!! :lol:

More seriously, is there any problem with the rest of the dash gauges? That is on the dimmer circuit with the rest of them.. maybe the dimmer?

But yeah, you probably will have to take the unit out.

You will need to remove the A/C control panel to replace the burned out lamps behind the display. This thread shows you how to remove that panel. Start at STEP 4....http://www.castulucci.com/projects/carpc/oemnaviaccess/

Thanks guys, I will give it a shot. Just got my 4 runner back after 2.5 weeks in shop from hitting deer.

Tell the shop they missed something and have them replace it for you.
