radio problem

I am not quite sure what is going on.. When I first get into my 4runner and start it up cd player plays fine (kenwood deck) I get about half way to work which is about 15 minutes down the road and when i come to a stop light and put my foot on the brake it loses power..

If I am sitting there at the stop light with my foot on the brake and the cd player is trying to come on. the lights are pulsing on the cd player. If I am driving and go to make a turn or merge into another lane and put my blinker on the radio drops out.

It seems if to many things are going on at one time the cd player stops working. My alt is good and I have a new gold duralst battery from auto zone. When at the stop light i can put my left foot on the brake and rev up the gas and the player will come on.. Any ideas????

Do you have a big system with an external amp?

What does your voltage gauge do at this point (assuming you have an SR5)?

Chances are your alternator is NOT good, or the belt is loose, or the battery is bad. What you're seeing is that the alternator can not power everything at low RPMs, but can at high RPMs.

Not a big system at all. I had Auto zone test the alt and battery. All is good so they say.

yes I have an SR5 and no voltage drop at all. I put a fluke multimeter on there and saw no drop.

I think I may have found the problem.. I had the whole truck soda blasted before the por15 went on and when i was taking the radio out last night all sorts of soda material poured out the crimp caps!! before i got the 4runner some hack cut the factory plug off.. I forgot I did a quick fix 6 years ago to get some music and never fixed it permanently!!!!

thats on todays schedule.. i will let you guys know what i found..
