Tapatalk search from my phone sucks so I ask...

2005 with jbl. Occasionally neither steering wheel nor radio knob work to control volume. It's stuck at whatever it was at. Everything else works fine. Restarting the truck cures it. Anyone have any experience or recommendations?

Same thing happens to me too expt I have a 06 non jbl, the volume on ether the head unit or steering wheel works but i wait a little bit then it does. never try turing the car on, off though.

I have a 09 with jbl. I have a (getting worse) intermittent simular issue. Sound goes out.. Neither volume control on radio head nor on steering wheel work.. But all other finctiond (channel, etc.) Continue to work... It is like a loose connection, but cant bump anything particular to make it happen....
Suggestions anyone ?

It's a flaw with the JBL head units, all you have to do is turn the key to the start position (while the car is running) and it will reset the radio

That does reset the radio, but it comes right back doing the same... getting worse... any other suggestions.... can you change out the head with an aftermarket radio, and still use the subwoffer and steering wheel buttons?

abosolutely, you can retain the amp and steering wheel controls, you will need 2 different adapters though, 1 for each

Non JBL factory system Issue Volume stuck loud No adj. but mute or Vol.0..

Hey I am having a volume stuck issue with my 04 t4r. It worked fine with factory head unit. I replaced it with a soldered metra 2 plug wiring harness wired everything but remote wire and a pink and black interrupt wire. Everything wired correctly to my knowledge. Which is good. But after Installing the aftermarket head unit the volume stuck loud. no adjusting it even though the volume control button works fine. I think it may be that 3rd wiring harness that came out of the factory head unit that is unhooked thinking it could go to a factory amp. Havent tried the reset procedure i read somewhere saying while the car is running turn the key to start which i would think could damage the starter. the aftermarket head unit is an oldie but good clean alpine cda-9886 with the pxa-h100 imprint sound processor and ktx-h100 tuning microphone manage kit. Having issues loading the imprint program on an old pc xp service pack 2 it wont load the program to run. on my other win7 it wont work says it has an open port error and to click ok and closes the program out. So i havent been able to fix the stuck volume or get the factory speakers tuned with the imprint sound processor. Its been tricky but if you dont mind it loud i just click volume to 1 and im jamming.lol wish i could get it tuned and figure this volume issue out. much help be appreciated done evertyhing i can think of for the imprint sound processor i have set for 3 way vrs the front rear subwoofer. And have no amps but maybe factory amp somewhere on the vehicle but again its not jbl and had 3 harness out the back only two hooked up to aftermarket h.u., had like 2 ground lines, only one plugged in that i think is the actual radio ground other is little bit smaller and i have no place to plug it in what ever it is. thanks for any help ppl i almost feel like i need an expert.:peep::welcome::guitar3:
