Disconnect the battery wire and see if your lights work with the parking light wire hooked up only.

I'm a complete novice with electrical. Is this diagnosis to get my ditch lights to turn off with my keys? And for further clarification, disconnect "the battery wire" from the light harness and switch harnessss? Would that be the green wire (switch harness) and the yellow/supply wire (light harness) that are already connected?

If it does than you need to switch these two wires.

Switch them with which ones to what?

Try only with 3 wires.

Add the parking light once’s it’s working how you want and it should give you the result

I actually think you got it right.
My lights don’t have a dimmer. They turn on when I turn on the lights not dim. But I have aftermarket switches.

If the switch is in the off position and ditch lights off. Turn on the lights. If the switch lights up you got it correct. Then press the button. What happens? I assume something lights up or gets brighter

Right now the ditch light switch on/off function works perfectly. With factory headlights on or off, theor ditch switch has back light JUST like the other factory switches (brighter with lights off, dimmer with headlights on and gets even brighter when ditch switch gets turned on, and the ditch switch dims with the Dash Light Adjust Control Dimmer Switch (DLACDS) only it dims backwards from the rest of the dashboard and factory switches).

The dimmer is a resistor, so depending on how you’re tapped in the circuit it can “act” differently. It sounds like you are wired in parallel to the dimming circuit with an extra path to ground. An increase in resistance will cause more current to travel an alternate path through the LED, instead of dimming it. This is a problem with parallel circuits with multiple paths “chassis” to ground. Try finding the ground for the dimming circuit, and running the LED output to it, and see what happens.

@ryan- I called over to Rago and they said the switch are cheap Chinese ones. Some work with the dimmer and some don't. Stop pulling your hair out. There's another switch maker everyone has successfully used so try that one if you're wanting it to work the way it should.
