Rain on recently washed 4r. What you do?

So just washed the 4r. I’m a recent owner. Washed it 2 days ago. Now it rained. I need to get used to east coast weather that’s for sure lol.

Would it be okay to simply dry it with a mf towel? Or just take it as a loss and wash it again in a few days?

Also what do you guys in this situation?

I'm ceramic coated, so if the truck wasn't too dirty, i might just hit it with a foam cannon, rinse it, and then dry it with a leaf blower....just a quick touchless wash. I prefer not to touch the paint if possible. for a real wash when needed, I do use the foam cannon, rinse, and then 2 bucket wash with a leaf blow dry.

for the rain water, did it just sit in the rain or did you drive it? rain water is pretty clean and if there wasn't any (or much) dirt on the paint, it should dry pretty clean, especially on a coated car. I usually leave it alone. If I drove it in the rain and it got dirty, not a good idea to dry it and rub that dirt into the paint...great way to mar the paint.

I take rain as a free car wash. Of course, I live in the desert, so it’s not that often it happens.

Don't run a towel on it because rain water is dirty. Just take it as a loss. It rained here (CA) recently and my truck is dirty now. I may just spray it down with pressurized deionized water if I don't feel like doing a full wash. I only air dry if it's not a full wash.

Rain is about the only time the 4runner gets washed. But then it gets muddy.
I occasionally run it through the car wash if we're spending all day in town. But living down miles of dirt roads, it's dirty by the time we get home.

My 99 Chevy has as much paint chips as my 21 4runner.

My AG ORP is 9 months old and has NEVER seen rain or snow. Not even a drop.lol
It has been in my shop getting suspension ,paint correction and Graphene Ceramic coated though.

Of course my 00 3rd Gen Highlander Edition(Black Betty) is my daily driver and still love her most and she takes all the weather for now. With King suspension she rides like a dream!

After I wash a car, I detail it daily (until I get sick of doing it, which is about a week or two). Takes 15-20 min but looks like it just pulled out of the factory. Even if it rains it's not an issue because dust is minimal with daily maintenance. The biggest issue is if you have a lot of dust and then it rains.

If it's way too dirty, I would not chance anything. Though my guess is it is OK to do maintenance. Before I recommend what you can do to make the vehicle look amazing again, I would need to know if the vehicle was ceramic coated or if you waxed it.

As far as drying the vehicle. I'd drive fast down the freeway real quick to get most the water off, then gently drag a MF towel that is meant for drying on any wet areas. There are many different microfibers out there with different purposes. I can link you to a drying towel if you want, at least for next time. But what you should do after the drying process will depend on whether the vehicle is ceramic coated or waxed.

I'm in Los Angeles. We had a small storm and I had detailed my wife's Lexus the day before. Did a daily maintenance on the paint even though it rained and the vehicle looks brand new. There are ways to pull it off.
