Rain on recently washed 4r. What you do?

Since this appears to be a serious question (ffs), have you tried putting it in a bag of rice and restarting it?

C'mon man! Ima need a warning before you put up stuff like that. I've got beer coming out my nose!

So Im in Texas, rain would be appreciated to keep the paint moisturized . Can you recommend a sunblock for my poor 4Runner ?

Rain all by itself is harmless. However, it also has minerals, gunk and other stuff it picks up environmentally. More so if you drive it in the rain.

Just wash at the next earliest opportunity. Never wipe it down. You’ll cause more harm than good.

My 99 Chevy has as much paint chips as my 21 4runner.

My 6 year old 4Runner has almost zero chips. Used to detail cars professionally and I think that the 4Runner has an excellent finish. Like any car you are better off with a light color than a dark color if you are particular about scratches and what-not.

I hate bees because my Toyota Corolla 2004 was also crap by bees. In the garage when spring comes, I try to put a carpenter bee trap because they also gnaw through the wooden window frames. The only thing you can do is not to leave the car outside for a long time.

My 4WDs have always been washed 2x per year=once before winter and once after winter. The Blue Beast (2019 SR5 Premium) is getting washed today after a 3-week trip though the SW. Had to use 4WD to get through mud holes created by early monsoons!

For gawd sakes, it's a truck!

BTW: There were several 4Runners in the Visitor Center parking lot. One woman pointed at us as we left (Theirs was also Nautical Blue) and all turned around to stare at our mud-covered monster!

Yes, but leave it in the rice for several days before attempting the restart.

Had about a month's worth of Wyoming mud on my white T4R, making it more brown than white... freakish scary thunderstorm in Utah cleaned most of it off on the way back to SoCal. Still have the really deeply embedded dirt, though. No way it's going to rain here in summer, so figure I'll probably wash it sometime this month...
