Raingler cargo nets

Thread revival:

Does anyone know what the plastic upholstery studs in the ceiling go into? Is it possible that they pop into some type of steel tab that is solidly mounted to the roof? That might be a good tie down point.

I really want one of these nets on my 2014. Anybody have pics of how the FJ or 4th gen 4Runner nets mount to a 5th gen?? Talked to Eddie at Raingler and he said we could make it work, but I'm not sure which kit I need to order.

I'm not sure how that would work in my 2014 since there's no hangers right behind the rear seats. They quite a few feet back:

Replacement d-rings from amazon can go there instead of the clothes hanger.
 
Is anyone running one in a 5th gen. Want to pick one up... but there is that picture where the sag blocks the rear view mirror. How does everyone like theirs?

The 5th gen just got updated, bigger, wider, trailer and two different locations to mount in now so plenty of adjustment to get it in the best position for visibility.

Which net are you asking about? I just installed the full length ceiling mesh net in a 2018 T4R. It does not block the rear view mirror or rear window. It does somewhat obscure the center dome light.
 
Damn that was months ago. I was looking into buying the full behind the second seat divider. I ended up getting it. It sags in the top and they are as tightened as can be. Other than that it’s nice. Dog hates it.

Did you get the MILSPEC one or the standard? I'm debating which material to go with.

Might work to keep some groceries r a small backpack from rolling around while you're driving, but I would never put my life in a cheap nets hands. I use my heavy cargo net as a secondary hold down for two wolfpack boxes full of tools, recovery gear, etc. Also coolers and other gear when camping. I'd like to see how fast a walmart bungie cargo net would snap when the vehicle rolled.

I found that mounting the Raingler to the rear hooks just put it too far back for my use. (My fridge door couldn't open all the way.) Raingler immediately sent me their footman loop kit, and I installed it on the c-pillar. Works pretty well, and I've liked the extra security.

I keep heavy items strapped down, but soft, bulky items are kept away from the passenger compartment.

Totally true. Don't even want to chance flying gear or pups due to either of these concerns. We use all very high caliber steel mounts, never plastic. Extremely little stretch on our standard 800# material nets and ZERO stretch for our MILPSEC made ones.

I just got the standard full height, default options picked. The sag isn’t a big deal if you adjust your mirror. I love mine

Yes i got one and tried to install it today. Its a nice quality product but I don't like the way its fits. The net is set at an angle and does not leave much room for the dogs head. If you have a smaller dog it should work fine. I have a huge lab.

They make a kit that lets you install it completely vertical but it required removing panels and drilling holes. Little more work than I wanted to get into.

But Great company and Great support.

I purchased one on clearance on there site. It had the measurements and listed as a Octagon hybrid and also fits J200. I called them and asked if it would fit 5th gen T4R. He put it on one they had in the shop and called back and said it could work with Rear Barrier Install Kit-Standard 3rd Row (C102+C105RW+C119L6) So I ordered both When I got it I noticed the net came with 4 tie down points per side (all 4 where used) vs the 3 for the T4R. I also have a lab and did not like the way it fit leaning back like it did. The kit came with a few D rings. It also came with a pair of 3" nylon D ring straps with the seatbelt plate. It did not come with the part you would have to drill to install. I pulled the panels to look inside and ended up installing those straps where the second row shoulder seatbelt bolt goes and the D ring just came out the panel but it's at an upward position behind the panel from the plate to the d ring. It works. With it being tight on top it has about a 10" gab to the headliner and about 8" gab on the bottom corners...
I didn't have to drill which I liked. Company & Quality is great but I'm still on the fence if I like it or not for what I paid. I had the option to send it back but will keep it.
Net with mesh $129 and the Install kit was $25

Hey Intruder, I have a Cargo Ceiling net and it's definitely solid and it's been working out great. Raingler has a lot of options and feel free to give them a call 866.905.7625. I spoke with Ed, he was very helpful and offered many customization options. Ed is extremely patient as it took me 4 phone calls to order the Ceiling Net due to poor cell reception on my end in the Arizona Backcountry. Install required no drilling and 15 minutes later, it's all setup.

I primarily use the ceiling net for sleeping bags, chips, windshield squeegee cleaner, blankets, etc. It definitely can take more weight as I have used it as a food pantry and it doubles up as a drying rack on laundry days.

I look forward to my next Raingler purchase as I'm thinking of a full ceiling net in the future.

My dog enters the vehicle from the rear lift gate. I have the 2nd row folded down and she lays on a pad on top of the seats.

I'm interested in this full height Raingler divider, but I want to use carabiners to unclip the 2 top hooks so she can jump over the net when entering/exiting.

Anyone think that won't work? From the photos, it looks like the top straps have to be tensioned all the way. I'm worried if I add carabiners, the top won't be tensioned because the reach will be longer.

Thoughts?
