What happened to the options? There are few color options, although the ones I would consider are still there, but more importantly the mil-spec option is gone for the two Gobi pieces. Is it just that it's out of stock or is it no longer offered? To be honest, I don't know if it's needed, but I'd like to get the most durable option so that I can just leave it on.

Order placed for the separate Gobi rack nets. I reached out to them through their "contact us" link for the refund of shipping cost. Now to get the Gobi rack so I can use these nets. Is that back-ass-ward?

No point picking non-mil-spec webbing, we all need it strong so that we can drop our 4R from 5000ft! :frog:

I do use my Raingler Net to strap 6 NATO jerry cans on top of my Gobi!

Looking for some quick clarification / confirmation, as I'm laid up in bed with a thrown out back and can't make it out to the truck to measure my roof rack.

I've got a Gobi Stealth w/ a sunroof cutout for my 3rd Gen ... is everyone ordering this specific net? --> https://raingler.com/collections/toyota/products/rear-net-for-gobi-stealth-5th-gen-4runner

I'm hoping it'll give enough space that I can lash down a long duffle bag and some boxes of firewood or NATO jerrycans, nothing too tall or crazy. Just trying to keep the area behind the sunroof cutout secure.

I'm hoping to have my Gobi in a couple of weeks, but I have the sunroof opening, as well as the rack insert. I ordered that rear net and the front net that goes over the sunroof. That way I have the option to go fully loaded, but the smaller "front net" will also give some options in the rear (lobbing that one over the plate...) if I don't want to or can't use the full rear net.

If you don't have the sunroof insert and want to order "just enough net" then you only need the rear net that you linked.

I called Raingler today to clarify the options for a 5th Generation T4R with a Gobi Rack. Super nice people BTW. I could not find the "one" piece net listed and someone was able to point me in the direction of the following one piece net.

I was told the 34x66 dimension net would be more than enough for my needs.

I did see that the 2 piece option (one for the front and one for the rear) only came to $18.98 more (before the discount).

I decided to give Raingler a call back to verify some more questions and he told me that the (2) net setup does connect to one another in the center. He also said that the 2 net system is a little more versatile than the one piece so I will be purchasing the 2 net system.

Would you mind detailing just a little bit what you hold down with the little net and why it sees more use than the big one? Kind of an expensive purchase for netting and I want to make sure I get it right.

I removed the rear seats in my 3rd gen and built in a full platform a while ago, so I'm thinking the 35 x 50 net might be the best for exterior and interior use.

That net will cover the at area aft of your SunRoof to the back end of the rack.

Totally worth it. I thought I either explained in some earlier Raingler Net GB or in my build thread about how versatile is the 2 nets system. The 2 nets do join too. If you can, get the 2 nets system!

Also, get some additional extension straps, they will come in handy!

I agree with this too!


I use the small net when I have my RTT mounted. The small net is enough to hold down a row of six 5gal jerry cans (I do 2 water and 4 gas myself).

Then my large net can cover either over the RTT for even MORE stuffs... or I use it inside, and strap things down on my carge slide.

Any recommendations there? I ordered 4 36" straps for general use and figured I'd have them as extensions too.

I removed the rear seats in my 3rd gen and built in a full platform a while ago, so I'm thinking the 35 x 50 net might be the best for exterior and interior use.

folding tables, tool boxes, wood, my awning before it was mounted up, the kids when they act up (kidding), been holding the TredPros on lately. basically anything that's flat-ish.
