Rally Armor Mud Flaps

I got a response from Rally Armor the other day and I thought that I would share.

Would these look like the ones I see flapping around on Subarus? If so, might look a little silly on a 4Runner.

My 2000 Tacoma had the OEM floppy rubber mud flaps and I prefer them. They don't care if they get slammed against rocks like the rigid plastic ones on the new Toyotas do.

what is special about rally armor, i thought flappy rubber mud flaps were almost universal from basically any auto parts store or jc whitney

Most RA flaps that I've come across are pretty rigid.

I wouldn't hold your breath. The rear flaps are complex and make up part of the fender liner. I've ripped one off. They're kinda $$$, but ones like you want would be worse. And more expensive. The oem ones are plenty flexible. The issue is when you reverse against a rock and pinch it. Only real solution is to cut the oem ones and put a disposable rubber part behind it. Or quick disconnects. Either way I don't think there's enough market to make em for the 5th gen due to the complexity of the mount area and low interest.

Plus don't most 5th Gen guys remove the mud flaps and chop up the fender liners and body mounts to allow those sweet 285s on SCS wheels to not rub? :biggrin1:

Agreed. I like the old style ones. The OEM rears aren't bad, but the fronts are a little short, still get the side of the truck covered with mud, not much deflecting going on.

Added them to mine and am pretty happy with them, they cover where it needs to be covered and flex enough when I am in the back country.

I put a pair up front, but I think I need to remove my rear tires to do a proper job back there. Interested in what you had to do/trim [MENTION=138160]Swede71[/MENTION] to get those to fit?

They required using the originals to fill in the gap, just need to cut them to fit and add the rally ones,

Yes they are, i did not want to wait for ones that may or may not be coming in the near future for our 4runners. Others have used them on this forum with good success so followed suit.

I've been waiting for these, but they make the stock 4runner pictures look like a rally car. Not sure I'll bite.

UGH, I HATED them on my Outback compared to the Rokblokz. Too flappy. Easily torn and just not durable at all. Can't imagine paying that much for them.
