Ya there was!! I put in a new third member. It’s from ECGS. 4.56” gears and Yukon locker.

Did real well on her maiden voyage after the break-in period. I will say that if an aftermarket case is used then you need to widen the opening for the third to slide in. It will hit the adjuster wheels.

That rear locker with better gearing sure made things easy!! Funny that the other guys wanted to try stuff in 2wd too. LOL It’s NOT a rock crawler but she did well. Son and I had a blast!!!

I ran my rig 2wd for years before converting it to 4x4. In fact the conversion took place within a year of regearing and locking my rear axle...just saying you might get the 4x4 itch coming soon.

Honestly though we regeared and locked can get you amazing places that will surprise a lot of the 4wd folks.

Conversion? I would love to do it! Just lack the time and cash. Totally amazed on the performance of the truck. Where other Runners were spinning tires, I just crawled up due to the new gearing.

Ive seen others with open 2wd do that hill and it takes spped and spinning so good on you.

I would roll with a friend in his 2010 Taco and he would spin in ruts and really loose soil with 4x4 and open diffs. I was able to slowly creep those same areas as 2wd with 4.88 and locker with trans pulled into 1st gear. Had to feather the gas to give little power bumps to get over things but didn't lose traction.

Ya I didn’t want to try to barrell up that hill, spinning and bouncing all over without the locker or re-gear.

Hey that’s cool!!! I need to look into a conversation. Has to be this truck though. Oh btw...I just hit 105k miles!!!!

Don't let nay sayers deter you. Plenty of us have here have done the conversion. If and when you're ready the info is on this forum. Until then...run em hard!:gun6:
