I used to do that, not quite like Szabo but I was pretty good. Here is my Logo 600 that ran a 12s LiPo set-up. Around $3500 just for the heli, no radio or support equipment.

We built a 69 with a rsr engine. Loved it.
Haven't seen a Turbo S yet. Just finished a 993 TT engine rebuild though. Absolutely gorgeous car. And the air cooled Porsche's really retain their value. The TT was bought for around 110K new, went down into the 60's for a bit and is now back up to 85-90K.
This 964 turbo was purchased brand new for 120K. Owner dropped 200K additional into it. 3.6 to 3.8 upgrade, Andial intercooler, larger KKK turbo, exhaust, full cage, changed the entire roof skin to delete the sunroof, suspension, brakes, etc etc etc. Sold it this past summer for 45K.
I am giving this all up in 2 months to move to the country on my in-laws land. Crazy I know. But I enjoy hunting and fishing. They are building a house for us and in about 7 months there will be free babysitting. Not to mention the home cooked meals everynight after I walk across an acre to their house.

ZR1 vette, only used on the track, carbon fiber upgrades and 18x12 18x14 CCW track wheels
GT3.1 with mild upgrades and only driven on the track
The two Porche's were driven by the wife and the ZR1 by the husband. Old folks on the race trace, watch out now!

Congrats on that. I would give all this up for that lifestyle as well. Just that i want to live in the redwoods on the northern California coast.

45k for that was a steal of a deal. I would love to take it around a few times just to feel it pull and that 50/50 distribution. I'm sure it was close to it anyway.
I have brand love for sure but I do love anything that is build well and is FAST! I'm more about the engineering that goes into the labor of love no matter what it is, but one day I will own a 427 Cammer Big Block with twin 4 barrels on it and a 871 street blower

HAHA. I honestly don't have a huge toolbox. I have a 4-draw Matco cart. The owner of the shop has the huge rollaway will all the special tools. Honestly for most work, all I need are basic tools.
The power of the 964 was nice and then right at about 3k, full boost hit like an on/off switch and it was GONE!I truly love the air cooled 993's that and the big wale tail to. There is something about that car that will never get old I think.

No hate for American muscle from me either. My current dream car is a 94-95 Mustang GT with some minimal amount of work done.
I don't think they ever "raced" each other. Both are highly respected instructors at PCA HPDE's and most of the time they are just "playing" if they aren't instructing.
Honestly though, the 964 should tear the ZR1 a new one.
