What model year and which engine?

93 fleetwood brougham, 5.7 lt1 throttle body injected.

been hesitating, loss of power. wants to die when i first start it.
Then i have to feather the gas to get it to accelerate or give it lots of gas then
it opens up.

in the last two years: replaced, ignition module, egr valve, spark plugs
, plug wires, distributor, rotor.

in the last week replaced: fuel filter, air filter.

Im not that great with engines, but when i remove the air filter pan top,
and the engine is running, it doesn't sound right.

i was at a show a few weeks ago, when i was ready to leave, it wouldnt start for nothing, a guy had me pop the hood, and he said he held the injectors
down and it started right up.

Off the top of my head, I believe that model year had the Opti-spark ignition. If that is the case, I suspect the problem is the Opti-spark distributor. If you can verify that it has the Opti-spark ignition, I'd replace it with a distributorless ignition system.

I have no affiliation with this company, but have heard decent feedback about them: Fix Your Opti-Spark in an Hour or Two

as far as i know, my engine does'nt have the opti spark, that started on the year after mine 94-96

Oh yeah, that's right, the Corvette got the Opti-spark in '92. Camaro and Trans am in '93. It's been awhile since I had to deal with one of those ignition systems.

Without being able to hear it run, whatever is causing it to sound bad, could be any number of things. Any decent Mechanic should be able to diagnose and fix your problem.

Anyway, if pressing down on the injectors caused it to fire up, that's a good indication you have a short in your injector wiring. I'd start looking there.

im figuring its either the ignition module, fuel injectors or fuel pump. Im
going to try and test the fuel pressure today.

so nobody noticed the hella clean land cruiser :sadwave::ybrick::horn:

Oh yes sir I did! Like a moth to a flame. I used to build low riders, install hydraulics, and build bed dancers but the land cruiser was the first think that caught my eye.

:bravo: Ya i pulled up to the cruise and saw that right away, that was the first vehicle i went and checked out, it was very clean inside and out.

do you have any old school pics of your low n slow days:snacker:

Yeah. I'll post them later on. Had a '78 cutlass (4 pump hydro setup), '86 caprice (4 pump setup), '62 impala (no hydros. Just a cruiser) and a '92 hardbody (8 pump bed dancer. Bed was cut into 4). None were "show" vehicles. Only entered hydraulic comps back in the day. Pretty much built and than sold to fund the next one except for my cutlass that was totaled two weeks before going in for paint. I kinda miss those days but I just got tired of building cars that I didn't wanna drive.

car dancing was always my favorite part of the competitions. Not really into the hoppers nowadays,
all weight , no gate. Most are just weight balancers rather than true hoppers.

I agree. When I was building them back in the mid 90's, we ran single pump set ups with a square dump, 10-12 batteries and that was it. No dead weight! That's when hoppers were hoppers. Not like that anymore.
I found a few old pics in my photobucket but my phone won't let me post multiple pics so bare with me.

Here's my '92 Nissan bed dancer...

Here's my '62 impala. Nothin fancy. Just paint and wheels. Sold it before I put any money into the interior or motor but it ran great.
