GETTING PREPPED FOR CONSTRUCTION STARTING THIS WEEKEND, HURT MY HEART TO GUT THE TRUNK , IT BEING IN SUCH MINT CONDITION.

some work on the Cadillac over the weekend



building the battery trays



removed springs and shocks



cut cylinder holes on the rear perches



Cut trunk floor for access to frame



test fit battery and pump rack



welded in rack support mounts to frame and patched floor

Put about 16 hours in over the weekend.

Got the upper control arms about done today. Extended 1 inch, reinforced, molded, and grinded smooth. Will be going off to chrome at the end of the week.

Got the battery and pump rack fabricated and finished. Will be getting body work painted this week and welded into the frame supports probably next weekend.

por15 on the rack, primered, and house of Kolor brandywine Kandy base and cleared. Upper control arms ready for chrome.

16 gauge metal fabrication....saving a 1998 Chev. box, via tailgate hinge rebuild:
- metal was to thin to Mig weld, so out with the Oxy/Acet. to braze edges solid
- difficult to measure "x/y/z" coordinates, when their is nothing left...but a hole
- in the end, TX tailgate lined up perfectly, and very rigid repair
Had the box sides not been so good, never would have tackled the job / but it was fun, dusting off the old tools.

Good progress today. Laid a little sound deadener down, cut the holes and notched for the cylinders, welded in the alignment donuts, cut and crimped all the 0 gauge wire , and welded in the rack. No turning back now.
