Random plug

Hey guys. I was just changing my foglight bulbs and noticed a lone cable plug on the passenger side near the fog light cable.

Anyone know what it is?

Heres a bonus pic. I have 5500k ddm lows and just put in 4400k fogs. Will likely switch out the 55s for 4500k at some point. I like the white vs blue..

Left side old, right side new

I just looked up there again and noticed these 2 white brackets with holes. Maybe theres something missing there? Bout the truck in December from a small used lot... Never know what they do at those places

I looked on mine but didn't see any un used plug besides my fog lights harnesses

My 04 v8 has the exact same plug! I searched online forever and never found anything. I was finally able to forget about it before it drove me insane. Thanks for the reminder... now I'll be up all night.

If I remember, it was wrapped snug to the other wires. Not hanging loose like it had been unplugged. My thought is that it belongs to some sort of optional accessory, but I can't for the life of me imagine what that could be.

BlackWorksInc, know anything about this?

I think Canadian 4Runners have a Low Washer Fluid Level warning light, something US spec vehicles don't. It might be for that circuit if there is a common wiring harness between countries.
Item W1 in the diagram.

That would make sense! Makes me wonder.. why would they include it there and not here. My last car had it and it was convenient. Wonder if it could be added! Then there wouldn't be a lone wire :jump:

According to the parts diagrams, there are Canada specific reservoirs, pump motors and switch assemblies. Canada also has a different combination meter, although I don't know if thats just the km/h vs mph, or if they also have an extra bulb and warning symbol.
Nice to have? For sure, but totally not worth the effort to add it if you ask me.

I thought about the bulb thing on the dash.. I agree. If it's more that a simple plug and play.. Not worth the trouble. Thanks for the info!

Just to confirm we do have Low washer fluid level indicator light up here in Canadastan.
Didn't know they skipped it on US market 4runners.
My reservoir can hold nearly 4 qts of washer fluid, how big are the reservoirs on the US models?

About the same size. I can dump in an entire bottle if the tank is empty.
