random questions

i was wanting to know some small little things.
i have a 99 sr5 5spd fyi

with a fob unlocker can you make the lights flash and horn honk, and pop open the rear hatch?
does it have traction control?
what does a diff drop do?
what does a diff breather do?
if i got a 2" bl is the rear bumper attached to the body and if i got a bumper lift would it lift the front guard up and other things that might need lengthened?

all of these have been answered before, but ill answer them for

First off Ill start with the bumper. It would just take a quick glance to notice that it is only mounted to the body. So there is that

a diff drop drops the front diff = self explanatory slightly less cv angle on a lifted truck

a diff breather allows air to go in and out of your dif as it heats (expands) and cool (contracts) without it you would have oil leaking out of the axle seals.

If you have a key fob YOU tell us what it does i have no clue what model it is. and no you cannot pop open the hatch like a trunk popper on a car


Do you have a trac off button? probably no since its a 5spd and i have yet to hear of a 5spd with traction control. Look on the dash.

yeah the diff stuff was just kinda thrown in there, mainly wanting the fob parts, i dont have one im asking if the truck can do it at all

and another was the actual max lb the roof can hold, it says like 145 or something but i bet it can hold more, going to get a roof top tent over summer

My '99 SR5 5spd has four buttons:
Lock
Unlock
Rear Window (open only)
Panic (horn and lights)

No auto open on the liftgate.

Pretty sure A-trac system started in '01, definitely not on '99 5spd. And since 5spd ended in '00, never was a 5speed with A-trac so J-money is on the money (sorry, Jason).
