My rear suspension system airbag failed on one side and now my truck lists like the Titanic. I was hoping it was the sensor but the whole bag has leaked or failed. Dealer advises to replace the airbag and height sensor on that side, $$ and no guarantee the other system components won't fail. I've read a lot in 24h of joining this board about suspension swaps. What I want is the most economical way of having stock ride quality and height and not worrying about it again. Truck is 2003 v8 limited.
The GX470 conversion kit from metal tech 4X4 looks like what I need. What springs should I buy for stock height and comfort? With the kit and springs, are there any other components or parts needed to do the swap (my dealer or mechanic to do it, not me....). It all looks bolt-on for my vehicle? Are any electronic systems to disable, etc.
Advice for a newbie needed......replacing the RAS seems silly when it isn't really a feature I need in the first place. Will I lose ride comfort or handling? (My XDEAS was converted to regular shocks from the previous owner).
