Rausch Creek FALL trip!! Let's do this!

Yea I checked noaa- its got a chance everyday.. I think that number is up to 11 or 12 now, Yotazach85 is bringing his taco up
does he not have internet access :sniper:

I'm a go. My son and I are coming up. I need to get a cb- quick- and check the "to bring" list posted earlier. Is anyone camping? or hotel? BBQ food or restauraunt with bar after? I will go thru earlier posts to catch up. ALso, I got a new full spare for this (and good to have anyway) but I think its rubbing on a bar, any adviuce?
my buddy and i are camping, i honestly dont know if there is a decent restaurant nearby, maybe within 10 miles or so, i kinda just planned on bringing some hot dogs/beer/camp food stuff and a tent. there is a quiznos down the road at the gas station if you want to grab something if/when we break for lunch

I've never headed off into the woods, just to drive out again for lunch! lol

Btw, anyone bringing a grill? I don't have a small portable one, or I'd volunteer. If we can get each of us to bring some bbq food.... dogs, burgers, buns, chips, soda, condiments, etc. We should be set.

yes i totally agree with that however i think with a few days left and not everyone reading this thread that it might not work? no one is saying if they are camping at rausch creek so i dont know. my buddy and i are, if you are we can just plan for us 3 (or more if youre bringing people) and go from there

Lmao- yea one min it was up to 70- an hour later it dropped to 10..
Canterm- what did you end up doing for a CB? I'm interested to see the range on it compared to mine since I'm running a 30" antenna.

SRS--having been able t pick up a CB yet. I tried wal-mart, radi-shack, and best buy but nothing in stock. But I think I am just going to go up to a truck store or buy from Amazon.

where in eastern pa are you? theres a truck stop out 78 at 737 i believe, also loves in hamburg

Opi,
Hey man couldn't wait til morning.
For all those reading and going, I am leaning towards the campsites such as echo valley. The primitive camping for now is too much for me. the 25/30 bucks for a site,4 adults an hot showers to warm my busted back are mre than worth it.
Tomorrow I'll post up my confirmedplans or EITHER arrival on Sat morn OR Friday early afternoon to setup camp. If anyone's interested let me know.
I'd rather bring my own food n stuff, but it'd be awesome to share a campfire, smores, a beer and the HILARIOUS stories of the trail runs and the "hey dude, hold my beer and watch this.....".
I picture this RC trip at a minimum meeting new friends:cheers: OR a maximum TONS OF FUN CAUSE THE FAT LADY AIN'T SINGING WHILE WE'RE THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fashionably Late

Here I am! LINY4Runner- Rausch Creek Veteran, Trail Guide and Walking Legend, at your service...
Bahahahaha
What's up guys?! Coming down to the wire, hope you guys weren't too worried about me...
So here's what I'm doing:
Driving out Friday night, staying at Comfort Inn in Pine Grove. I'll be at the park bright and early Saturday morning, likely around 8, 8:30. Wheel until lunchtime at which point we'll figure out what we're eating. There was a Quiznos but last time I was there, it was closed for construction. I know a few other great spots to eat around there, though, and CHEAP!! We'll then head back for a little more wheeling. We'll have to be out by dark, at which point we can grab dinner. I plan on staying over Saturday night and doing more wheeling on Sunday...anyone else in for a full weekend?

Hey Guys,

Just trying to catch up to this thread here...
My girlfriend and I are both in with 2 4Runners...
Coming late to this campground Twin Grove Campground Seems like they have a pretty huge campground and for a tent it's $36/night and they have a lot of amenities onsite. I am going to call them tomorrow make my reservation... Don't know how many of you are camping but let me know where the majority of the people are camping.
I've been to Echo Valley campground and not very impressed with their (trailer) bathrooms and other amenities. This Twin Grove Campground is about 20mins from Rausch.

We'll be getting in later on Friday night and meet everyone at the park early on Saturday (only) wheeling.
Been to RC before many times... so looking forward to my old stomping grounds :)

Awesome I will check out those truck stops. I ordered a cheap handheld CB radio from Amazon, but want to get a larger antenna if I can make something work. I am in Chester Springs (I am about 30 miles south of Allentown right off route 100). I wish I was elsewhere though because it is boring here.

Just made a reservation for a tent site w/Electric outlet. Plus you are allowed to park 2 cars/site at your tent site.
They are almost 70% booked for this weekend... and have 13 Primitive Campsites available as of right now. Plus they have a restaurant onsite that is open till 9pm, so we won't have to go town to get food after wheeling. Just an idea!

And... screw fed-ex.

Two weeks ago they lost my LBJ's. Last week, they lost my package sent from Toytec. I'm now going to be missing new LBJ's, my rear recovery point, two sets of bushing kits, tire deflators, and my diff drop. So that might get you thinking someone stole them off of my front porch right? I got the email saying that my second package arrived while I was in the front yard mowing my lawn. My address is CLEARLY marked on both my mailbox on the street and the front of my house. Rant Rant Rant.

Hopefully I can find a hitch recovery doomajiggie before Saturday. I doubt I'll need it, but RC lists that they require one.

Oh, and welcome back to the site Liny!

*Edit* 6) All vehicles should have at least one towpoint and a full-size spare. Screw it.

You already have a rear recovery point...it's that big steel tube under your truck that the wheels bolt to
Bahahahaha
Wish I could say I've never done that....but that'd be a lie.
