I would bet that it is based on either Corolla or Camry platform...my guess is the Corolla platform.

Yup...Camry platform is a very diverse platform! One thing that i did not know is that the Avalon (which came out in 2005) is based on the current Camry platform, not the prior generation...so, in essence, the Avalon in 2005 was ahead of it's time by 2 years. The current Camry came out in 2007 i think (or end of 2006).
