I have rattle can bedliner. Is it generally as good as the roll-on stuff?

I’ve had mixed results with rattle can stuff. The Raptor liner is a 2k paint. It has a hardener with it and has to be mixed before application. Can be sprayed on from a gun, rolled on, or they do make rattle cans of it but that option is going to be expensive. I did both sliders with 1QT of it if you can find that small amount. Used a low nap roller for the main body and a high nap roller with walnut shells for the tread part. Fairly smooth on the main body and very grippy on the tread part

We have two sets of RCI sliders. Both have Raptor liner rolled on. First time (6/2020) we did it because I wanted to be able to touch up easier than powder coat. Second time (12/2022) was same reason and because I knew I was going to need to modify them before mounting. First set was mounted in NJ and went through two winters with no rust. Second was in TX and don’t need to worry about rust

Have you ever removed the sliders to see if there’s rust on the frame behind where they mount?

Not yet but set to remove them from the first install in the next 6 months to re paint. No issues with the raptor liner other than they scratch my legs when getting in and out. Gonna flapper it off and reapply as smooth

I used rustoleum rust reformer as a primer on mine and vht roll bar chassis paint as the top coat. Both are amazing spray paints and both claim to reform rust. I’ve used them for a long time and the VHT applies super nice. As for grip I bought some black 1” grip tape and applied it across the entire top of the sliders. Hasn’t been terribly long but paint and tape seem like they will hold up.

I used VHT on the frame and toe hitch when new. Zero rust present 2 years later. I also use surface shield.
