I will be receiving mine soon and I plan to put on some Fluid Film between the frame and the sliders. This should prevent any rusting.

That's seems to be a great idea. Do you plan to use anti-seize or thread lock on the bolts? I am not really planning to remove the sliders later, but I want to avoid loosing a bolt or them being stuck in rust.

Haven't thought about that - probably not as I want to remove them from time to time to give them (and the frame they bolt on to) a good cleaning.
Did you mount yours yet?

Not yet. I am waiting for my son to come during a weekend for some help. I have yet to remove the side steps from the 4Runner.

I was pleasantly surprised by the actual shipping time on my Shrockwork sliders. My order was placed on 9/12/17 and they arrived at my home on 10/2/2017. So even though I was quoted a 6-week delivery date, they were here in just under 3. Even more impressive to me is that they were dealing with the aftermath of hurricane Harvey as I place my order.
I had a great experience with these guys. I needed the sliders for an upcoming Moab trip and they got them to me in a week and a half (powder coated too!). I drove up from Denver with a handle of whiskey to thank them and pick it up.
For the install on the Driver's side with KDSS, it was a bit of a pain. Use these EXCELLENT instructions that fernie made. The only difference is no need to drop the gas tank skid plate or use a hacksaw/bending anything (as no lip on the rci sliders) and I only needed one jack and no stands. The jack and wood shims are absolutely vital to getting the slider behind the KDSS lines. Those suckers had zero flex. I used a friend for the passenger side but installed the driver side solo. I did have issues with a few of the bolts that I'm going to get help from another friend on.
All the holes lined up, they look great, build quality looks solid (admittedly, I am no expert).

As the owner of a 2016 Trail equipped with KDSS, I had the same experience except I installed the passenger side first which was straight forward and got me thinking the install would be a breeze. When I went to install the driver’s side I thought I was doing something wrong because I couldn’t get the KDSS lines to loosen up. I was able to manage to get just enough space to slip the mounting plate behind the lines. Once I accomplished that, the rest of the install was a breeze.

I should do a write up on installing these. There’s no need to remove the gas tank skid or use shims. You just have to remove one of the bolts in the rear that also holds down the KDSS lines. That gives you a lot of room and makes the install a breeze.

Well going to bump a 3 year old thread, but better than additional forum clutter...
I'm certain ive seen on here, and also have pictures on their website, of their sliders WITHOUT the kickout, is this possible to get from RCI? Its not listed as an option with a dropdown menu, but again, sure looks like they have some pictures without kickout on their website....:twitch:

RCI has been pretty responsive in my dealings with them. Shoot then an email and they should get back to you fairly quickly.

I was on this boat and didn't see anything like that from RCI, so I went with RSG instead. Fantastic quality, but equally horrid response (or lack of) to inquiries.

Man those look perfect. You just ended my rci vs rsg vs. LFD debate.
Installation Question!
I hate to resurrect an old thread but how did you deal with the emergency brake mount during installation. Once you add the thickness of the rock sliders the tab no longer is long enough to fit in the frame hole. I really would appreciate any help you could provide.

i just put my RCI sliders on my '16 TEP w/ KDSS monday.
it took me about 3 1/2 solo, and without any jackstands etc.
i used a plastic toolbox i had to help hold them while i moved them into place. once i could get one bolt at the opposite end of the toolbox, it was easy to get another in and go from there.
regarding the e-brake tab, i just cranked it down and it moved into the slot cut in the slider plate. don't think it fully went into that hole, but i don't think it's going to move. i had a time getting that bolt in, i guess that bracket was tweaking the angle, but it wouldn't go in.
the driver's side w/ KDSS was a bit more "fun". ugh. some of those bolts are really a pain to get to to tighten down. a few the socket wouldn't fit, or you could only get one click at a time on it and it took 15 min to crank down one bolt.
once it was done, it was all good. powercoating is great, they look extremely well built and my wife and son liked them as a step. really for protection duty.
i ordered them feb 24th and they shipped march 31st, and got 15% discount and no sales tax, and had great communication with them they whole time.

Extremely Disappointed with Packaging, Product Condition, and Customer Service
I recently purchased a pair of rock sliders from RCI Off Road, and my experience has been extremely disappointing. One of the packages arrived with severe damage to the box (see pictures). This raised immediate concerns about the handling during shipping and the overall quality control from RCI Off Road.
Because the installation was done by a mechanic, I had already paid for the installation and didn't notice that the powder coat was scratched in two places, which began to rust within a couple of days. When I reached out to RCI customer service, the agent told me to purchase a can of paint and patch the scratches myself.
I followed up, asking for a partial credit for the condition and the trouble. The agent was rather arrogant and basically told me that I should always expect such damages when shipping online. He suggested I reach out to FedEx. He also further stated that rock sliders eventually get scratched and I should be prepared to patch them anyway.
I find this response unacceptable. I paid $1200 for a new product and expect the standards to be maintained and the company to stand behind their products, not redirect me to spend more money and time due to poor packaging or shipping.
I hope RCI Off Road takes this feedback seriously and improves their packaging and customer service. Until then, I would hesitate to recommend their products to others

They did nothing for me. For the cost RCI charges and the claims they make about their quality I would have expected my powder coat to last longer than 8 months. I now have multiple rust spots.
Overall a poor experience with RCI and I don't recommend them.
