Re-Installing Rear Sway bar HELP!

I recently bought the full lift kit from Toytec. While working on the rear I disconnected both rear sway bars so that I could drop down the rear axle so I could get the springs and the shocks in. When trying to re install the rear sway bars I could not get them fully back in. I had the same problem on both sides. Does anybody have any ideas? How can I fix this?

What part of install is the prob? I just did this same upgrade, but installed new links...

Well everything with the lift is completed but i just had problems getting the rear sway bars fully back in. I tried to take pictures of both sides.when i took them off they went flush up against that bar and now I couldnt get them fully tightened like they were before.

you'll need to loosen the nuts on the end link ends that are attached to the frame so the stabilizer bar is lowered and can reach the brackets on the differential housing.

I removed the sway bar from the link and not the axle or differential. I can't get the sway bar fully back into the link.

You might be out of luck. I'm guessing the stud is spinning whilst you try turning the nut back on. Your options are to use thin vice-grips to hold the stud, or using an impact gun. In either case, remove the nut again, soak it in PB blaster or even wd-40, and try again after some hours.

Thanks, I used vice grips to get it off and used them again in attempt to get it back on. Say all else fails would i have to get a whole new sway bar? or what would my options be from there? Cause they way they are now i feel as if its not going to do what a sway bar should do properly tightened.

you would just need new links.
you could get longer ones to match the lift better too.
like second gen links.

You shouldn't need to replace the sway bar, just the links. They are not that expensive and you will probably feel better about it later anyway. It will certainly help with intallation.

I used channel locks to hold mine in place while tightening.

There is an Alan wrench slot in the end of the stud thst to keep the ball joint from turning, just use an open end and snug it down. I would not recommend the use of vice grips or any type of pliers. It looks like you are there though already it doesn't go much further on then that. If you spun the link in circles trying to loosen/ tighten it just go to auto zone and pick up a new set they are cheap.

No experience with the toytec lift, but my SS lift came with brackets that relocate the swaybar a couple inches higher on the axle, and the end links still have a bit of a "reach" to get to the frame mounting holes. You can aslo run front endlinks in the rear since they are a little longer.

Looks as if i had over looked that as well. I first used vice grips to keep the inner bolt from spinning but it got to a point where they wouldnt fit in there any more and it wouldn't snag in the link so the bolt kept spinning . I may have to run to auto zone what exactly would i have to get though?
