Ready for lift off- 4Runner 5100- what springs can I do in the front?

I'm finally ready to lift my 3rd gen. I need advice about springs and set up...

Bilstein finally made 5100s for our trucks. As I see it, no need to get Tundra 5100s anymore.

Things to know about my truck:

-The truck has stock front and rear bumpers, no stuff stored in the back
-I daily drive it, with some light off road duties
-No e-locker

Front: 5100s stock front springs lift using perches (I will upgrade the springs at some point)

Rear: 5100- LC 8 wraps

Will these work before I pull the trigger?

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01EKNUZ9S/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A3N8QSA4G1FAKC&psc=1

I'm trying to pay on amazon because I have about $360 in gift cards on there.

Feel free to share relevant Amazon links if you have any!

That's what i ordered to use with OME coils. Will they be long enough to use with LC coils?

Not sure on your parts #'s but I suggest 99 highlander coils or TRD Tundra coils up front for a nice ride.

The rear you dont want to use 4runner 5100s because they wont be long enough for the rear LC coils. I suggest LC tokico OEM coils to match with the LC coils.

So many opinions on suspension, you really just have to see what you like. I know that isn't fun for guys that don't do their own work. If you do though, it's pretty easy. I can change perch height on mine in 45minutes- start to finish. You don't even have to pull the front tires to get your struts out.
In my opinion, the stock front coils should be just fine on those adjustable 5100. However, I would think the 8 wrap rears will give you a pretty good rake. Also- if you're going with 5100- you want the 33-187174 shocks for the LC coils. That said, I am with [MENTION=50342]JayRolla[/MENTION] on the OEM Tokico suggestion. You can get them on Amazon too.
I don't know if the valving is different between the Tundra and 4Runner 5100, but the Tundras do have finer height adjustments. Tundra's have 5, and the 4Runner version has 4. I love my Tundra 5100 and '99 tall springs. I think you're gonna be very happy with your rig once you get it dialed [emoji1360]

I think at this point the question is more like, “what’s the best suspension I can buy for $360 on Amazon?”

I might just keep saving instead of using it. I thought the 5100s would suffice. Maybe I’ll do more research.

Are you set on 3+ inches? What about OME coils and 5100s for around 2 inches?

Might be better if you're not going off road a bunch and will keep from causing a lot of driveline issues.

The 5100 rear would definitely suffice! It's just a matter of preference, and I prefer the Tokico over the 5100 for the rear. They're also cheaper- https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00K...8531-69417&dpPl=1&dpID=41ZZgZ5tdBL&ref=plSrch
Be aware, you may have to mess around with washers on the upper mount/bushings if you go that route. Nothing a trip to a hardware store for grade 8 washers can't fix.
I guess what the question really is-
How much lift are you wanting?
I am actually a little confused- the title indicates you're looking for front coil recommendations, but your post said you'll be running the stock coils, and adjusting the perch for lift.

I used the Stock coils up front and went with OME for the back. I have no complaints other than the front being a little soft. 5100 all around and OME coils in the rear set me back like $500+ shipping.

That sounds tall [emoji15]

Something like 4" - 4.5" of lift. Still shorter than the 9 wraps in the rear.

Can you enlighten me on the washer trick with the 5100s? Just installed my lift (Tundra fronts and 906 rears).

Sorry- that wasn't very clear.
The 5100 come with all the appropriate washers and bushings for the rear. The OEM Tokico do not, and the washers alone are like $10/ea from the dealer. Hardware store washers can be used to supplement the expensive dealer parts, and that's what I was referring to.

Haha not that that's saying much [emoji23]
How's it ride? Pretty rough? Looks nice [emoji1360]

I'm making this a budget set up. I got the LC 8 coils for around $40. I was hoping to buy some new struts and use the adjustment of the fronts perches to raise it.

Anything from 2-3" in the front is fine. Whatever those LC8 coils give me is fine as well.

Just want to make sure it will all work together.

It's okay. Stiffer than stock but not by much. I will replace the rear springs with some 861s or maybe 851s for the stiffness. LC springs don't hold weight well.

4runner or Tundra 5100?
I can't give any real reason to get one vs the other. I guess for warranty reasons, the 4Runner specific would make things easier- if you had to deal with a warranty issue. I haven't tried to contact Bilstein about the valving difference between the two, but I am definitely curious. The Tundra has one more setting than the 4Runner, but the top height is the same, and I'm sure that's the setting you would be using with the stock coils- so either one would give you the same height.
I assumed the Tundra had tighter valving to handle the heavier chassis and V8- and that's why I chose those- but I cannot confirm.
I'm sure you would be happy with either, and the 4Runner specific would give you less hassle dealing with a warranty exchange. I would just tell them it's on a Tundra- if I ever have an issue.

Doing more research found another member running the exact rear shocks you specified with LC 8 wraps. I think I'm set on rear suspension!
